Lake Erie

Lake Erie is the fourth-largest of the Great Lakes. It's surrounded by Ontario, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and Michigan and the major cities along its coastlines include Buffalo, Toledo, and Cleveland. It is a popular site for commercial fishing. Before being discovered by the French in the 17th century, the lake's shares served as the home to numerous Indian tribes, among them the Erie, from whom the lake takes its name. Islands located on the lake include Big Chicken Island, Kelleys Island, Mouse Island, Starve Island and Rattlesnake Island.
